Latham Cabinets & Staircases (white label for DRKM Strategies)

Blog Posts

The Challenge: The client has a thriving cabinet and custom millwork business. Knee deep in current and prospective projects, they needed someone to bridge the gap of understanding between their craft and the prospective customers visiting their website.

The Solution: I write blog posts to illustrate the work that Latham offers. I go beyond these topics into discussing home aesthetics, ideas for home improvement, and budget-friendly DIY strategies. The world of cabinetry and millwork comes with vocabulary and nuance that is uncommon in our everyday lives. I craft blog posts to make the various processes more accessible to Latham’s audience.

JW Financial Services (white label for DRKM Strategies)

4 Main Pages of Website

The Challenge: JW Financial Services has been running a strong, small accounting firm out of north Texas for 7 years, but they felt that they were not getting the website traffic that they should expect. So, they wanted to revitalize things and attract more potential clients.

The Solution: In addition to bringing a fresh take to all of the content on the 4 main pages, I kept the text simple, clear, and most importantly, I vamped up the SEO to make sure that their site continued to rise to the top of Google searches.

Top1 Sports Group (white label for Pier 98 Marketing)

Service Pages

The Challenge: Top1 Sports Group specializes in preparing high school and early collegiate football players for the next steps in their careers. Top1 is a budding business that needed content uniquely catered to their specific audience: young athletes and the families of those athletes.

The Solution: I created copy geared towards this specific audience, keeping in mind what mattered most to them: family values. With the recent changes to the NCAA guidelines regarding the younger ages at which endorsements / sponsorships were allowed, it was more important than ever before to include families in the decision-making process of athlete representation.

Here & Awake

Email Promotion

The Challenge: Brilliantly gifted Fallon Stone guides her followers through the process of somatic intuitive healing and integrative wellness. She was hosting a 2-hour master class to lead a virtual classroom towards understanding the connection of mind, body & soul, and she was looking for an email / sales landing page to help increase her attendance.

The Solution: Fallon’s audience for this particular email had familiarity with Fallon’s work, but it was also possible that they needed additional information to fully understand the scope of the course and, therefore, its value. I crafted copy that would have intrigued regular visitors to Fallon’s website, as well as new audience members if a recipient forwarded the email, for example. I broke down the course offering and made sure to highlight the great value of the masterclass.

DuVall’s School of Cosmetology (white label for DRKM Strategies)

Blog Posts

The Challenge: The client is a cosmetology school whose audience includes current and prospective students. The school’s administrators need blog posts that attract the attention of potential students who can best be described as dedicated creatives who possess a spirit of entrepreneurship and a passion for the beauty industry.

The Solution: I write blog posts that would cater to someone who is interested in the beauty industry, particularly a person who is considering cosmetology school enrollment – topics include, but are not limited to, hair care, beauty trends, skin care, nail care, make-up, etc.

Nervous System Rewired

Copyediting 9-Week Course

The Challenge: Fallon – founder of Here & Awake – created a course called Nervous System Rewired. The 9-week course helps its students to bring conscious awareness to the activity of their nervous systems, generating an organic familiarity with the language of their bodies and its internal cues. Her content-filled course came with 250 pages, rich with language, vocabulary and detail that needed to reach a broad audience.

The Solution: Even more important than my general copyediting support, I focused heavily on audience comprehension and accessibility. While some students will enter the course with a basic level of understanding of the language and concepts that Fallon would use and illustrate, other students may have less incoming knowledge. Keeping this in mind, I went through the course as if I were also a student, trying to learn and absorb skills related to introspection, self-improvement, and, of course, the nervous system. I was able to provide feedback about rewording concepts, reorganizing thoughts, and even reformatting texts to increase understanding for future students.

Testimonial: “Huge shout out to my editor Sara… for all the honest, helpful and encouraging feedback! This was a huge project and she completed it with such thoughtfulness and grace.”

The Jacobs Scheriff Group (white label for DRKM)

Website Content – All Pages

The Challenge: The Jacobs Scheriff Group is a consultation team that supports budding businesses whose primary focus is to solve local or global issues. The Jacobs Scheriff Group needed a website that captured their next-level professionalism in conjunction with their passion for making the world a better place.

The Solution: Before writing any content, I created a questionnaire specific to the 2 founders of The Jacobs Scheriff group and the business that they were starting. It was important to get a firm grasp of their core values and business goals in order to capture their intentions and voice. In the process, I learned who Erin and Adam were as people and as business owners, what they wanted their business to accomplish, and who they wanted to help.
